Augusto Inacio has emphasised that his Zamalek team is determined to win their CAF Champions League clash against USM Alger on Wednesday night.
The White Knights will face the Algerians at Stade du 5 Juillet in Algiers for a top-of-the-table Group B match.
The teams played to a 1-1 draw in their meeting earlier this month at the Borg El Arab Stadium outside of Alexandria.
“We’ve come to Algeria understanding how difficult the game is going to be. USM Alger are very strong side, but we are determined to return back with the three points, although we are playing under hard conditions, having played a league game just two days ago,” Inacio told the Algerian press, as quoted by KingFut.
The Zamalek coach added that he was pleased by CAF’s decision to turn down USMA’s request to play the game on the artificial surface of the Omar Hamady Stadium.
“It is always better to play on a natural one [surface, rather than] an artificial one, I don’t think that the fans will have any effect on my players, they are experienced players and they have our confidence to win,” explained Inacio.
“We’re focusing and having big ambitions to win the game, we have to be in our best technical shape during the game as that will determine the winner on Wednesday.”
The match in Algiers will kick off at 23h00 CAT.
