Kampala Capital City Authority coach Mike Mutebi believes the most effective team bagged the full three points on Tuesday.

Mutebi was speaking to the media in Nigeria after his side succumbed to a 2-1 loss against Rivers United in their CAF Confederation Cup, Group A match.

Two goals from Bernard Ovoke and Fredrick Obomate were enough for the Nigerian side while Geoffrey Sserunkuma struck KCCA’s consolation goal.

Mutebi also defended his attacking style despite playing away from home on the continent as he said the fans come to stadium to watch good football.

“It was end to end staff but the most effective team won,” Mutebi said after the match.

“They got their chances and took them away and that was it. I think it was pleasing to the fans. Of course we are disappointed but we lost in the manner that isn’t discouraging.

“We have a way we play. Like I said, we don’t come here to park the bus and be very careful because fans want to watch good football.

“First minutes they scored us and we panicked but it didn’t faze us to say we are supposed to be very careful and defensive but played our away.

“Like I said, Kudos to Rivers, they played well and took their chances.”

The coach will now look to claim a win in their match against FUS Rabat on June 30 at home.
