Botswana's Township Rollers Media and communications manager, Bafana Pheto says they are delighted to take part in this year's Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup in South Africa.

Tse Tala are making their second appearance in the tournament as they failed to impress in the 2015 inaugural edition.

After a 2-2 draw against Platinum Stars in 2015, Rollers lost 5-4 on penalties at Moruleng Stadium in Rustenburg.

However, with the 2017 tournament set to be played at James Motlatsi Stadium in Orkney, Pheto insists they will improve this time around.

“As Rollers, we are glad to be part of the Maize Cup and we are honoured, it will give us an exposure and experience to play foreign clubs,” said Pheto.

“We will grow from this tournament and at the same time, we will be gauging our players as we are in a pre-season.

“We have a new coach who will also want to see and measure the players. If you remember very well, we were leading 2-0 against Dikwena in 2015.

“However, our players were excited and we ended up conceding as we lost the game. We were excited and became clumsy at the back.

"We want to bring a fighting spirit this year.”

The Botswana giants are set to lock horns with local South African giants Kaizer Chiefs in the second semi-final at the James Motlatsi Stadium on 15 July in Orkney, North West. Kick-Off is at 12h00.
