Al-Merreikh will bank on their home ground advantage when they meet neighbours, Al-Hilal Omdurman in the CAF Champions League on Friday.
The fifth Group A match is set to produce fireworks considering the result of the first round as both Sudanese giants settled for a point.
However, the hosts will want continuity as they come from a 2-1 win over Mozambican outfit Ferroviario Da Beira in their last Champions League outing.
On the log table, the Red Devils sit at number three on the table with four points from one win and one draw, separated by goal difference from their visitors.
Coach Diego Garzitto will want a victory to ensure they are the kings in Sudanese football and to also boost their knockout stage aspirations.
Shifting focus to the Blue Wave, Omdurman are also in search of a win to ensure they keep the pressure on log leaders, Etoile du Sahel.
They have four points and trail the leaders by four as they are yet to win in the group after drawing all their matches.
In their previous match, Nabil Kouki's men drew 1-1 against Tunisian giants Sahel at home, but will hope to stun their neighbours.
Al-Merreikh Stadium in Omdurman is the venue for the fifth round of matches on Friday at 20:00 (CAT).
