CS Sfaxien claimed a 4-0 win over MC Alger in their final CAF Confederation Cup, Group B match on Saturday at at Stade Taïeb Mhiri in Sfax.
A brace from striker Firas Chaouat and goals from Alaa Marzouki and Oussama Amdouni ensured the Tunisians walked away with the full three points.
Following the victory, Sfaxien have now consolidated their top spot with 13 points and are through to the knockout stages.
Sfaxien will face off against Moroccan giants FUS Rabat in the knockout stages between 8-10 September 2017.
A goal in the second minute ensured the hosts were in control of the encounter as Chaouat netted just after the first whistle.
Although Alger fought harder to claim their second win over their hosts, but it was not meant to be as it was 1-0 at half time.
Although it looked like the final score will be a dull 1-0, Sfaxien scored three goals in the closing stages.
Chaouat bagged his brace in the 89th minute, before Amdouni and Marzouki completed the rout in injury time.
In the wake of the loss, Alger now finish their group stage campaign placed at number two.
They are through to the quarterfinals of the competition as Platinum Stars and Mbabane Swallows exit to tournament.
MC Alger will now meet Club Africain in their quarterfinal match between 8-10 September 2017.
