The United States will be Ghana’s biggest threat in their group at the 2017 U-17 World Cup in India, according to Ghana captain Eric Ayiah.

The Black Starlets, who were runners-up at the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon back in May, will be playing in their first U-17 World Cup since 2007.

This past weekend’s group stage draw for the tournament placed them in Group A alongside hosts India, the United States and Colombia.

“Now we know the countries in our group but we don’t know anything about the teams so it’s going to be difficult,” Ayiah told Starr FM, as quoted by GHANASoccernet.

“But we are going to prepare very well to face them.

“USA may be our biggest contenders because they are a football country, but we will work harder to overcome them.”

Ghana will face Colombia in the tournament’s opening match in New Delhi on October 6, followed by games against the USA and India at the same venue on October 9 and 12 respectively.
