Algerian international Aissa Mandi has been linked with a move to Stade Rennais, where he could reunite with Christian Gourcuff.

L’Equipe reports that former Algerian national team coach Gourcuff has made the 25-year-old Mandi one of his transfer targets ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Mandi, who was born in France but has represented the Fennec Foxes since 2014 and played for them at the World Cup and two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, is currently on the books of Spanish side Real Betis.

He joined Betis on a five-year deal in June 2016, having previously played for French side Stade de Reims. Mandi enjoyed a solid first season in La Liga, appearing in 26 matches and contributing two goals.

Rennes already has three Algerian players on its books: Mehdi Zeffane, Ramy Bensebaini and Rais M’Bohli.
