According to reports, Mamelodi Sundowns will not register Ricardo Nascimento for the 2017-18 Premier Soccer League season as the defender is nursing an injury that will keep him out of action for 6-8 months.

Razak Brimah's arrival has created a problem for head coach Pitso Mosimane, who will need to release one of his foreign contingent to accommodate the Ghana international.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper is the Brazilians first signing of the current transfer window, arriving in South Africa following several years playing in Spain. Brimah penned a five-year-deal at Chloorkop and will challenge Denis Onyango and Kennedy Mweene for the number one spot.

According to the Citizen, Brimah will be registered for the new season with Nascimento's name not among those included in Mosiamne's squad as the Brazilian defender will be out of action for the remainder of the year.

Nascimento signed for Sundowns 12 months ago, making 30 appearances and scoring three goals in his time at the club thus far.
