Spanish La Liga club Real Betis have strengthened their squad with the signing of Algeria international Ryad Boudebouz from French Ligue 1 club Montpellier HSC.
Betis made an announcement on their official website on Wednesday after the 27-year-old midfielder inked a four-year deal with the club.
A club statement read: "Real Betis Balompié has signed Ryad Boudebouz, from Montpellier HSC. The Algerian player has signed a contract to be a Green-and-White for the next four seasons.
"Ryad Boudebouz (Colmar, France, 19/02/1990) began his professional career at FC Sochaux, where he played for five seasons.
"In 2013, he signed with SC Bastia, where he spent a two-year spell before arriving in Montpellier HSC in 2015. In his last team, Boudebouz became one of the best players in the French league, as his numbers in goals and assists show.
"Last season, he scored 8 goals and gave 9 assists. He has won 25 caps with Algeria national team, and has played more than 300 games in France’s League 1."
Boudebouz has joined his countryman Aissa Mandi, a defender by trade, at Betis and the two Africans will be looking to help the club stay in the La Liga next season.
