Ghanaian star Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has explained that he turned down a lucrative offer from Birmingham City to join Bursaspor from Udinese.
The Black Stars veteran agreed a season-long loan move to the Super Lig side, but has revealed that he could have gone to England’s Championship to play under Harry Redknapp at Birmingham City.
Agyemang-Badu insists that he moved to Turkey for football reasons and is looking forward to experiencing life both on and off the pitch.
“I don't think I came to Turkey because of money. I want to play football and I will get it in a competitive Turkish league,” Badu is quoted by GHANASoccernet.
“The offer I got for Birmingham was very great, it was very difficult to reject it but I needed to taste the Turkish league.”
The Ghanaian will have the chance to make his Super Lig debut when Bursaspor face Istanbul Basaksehir in their season opener on Friday.
