Following the collapse of Jean-Michael Seri’s move from Nice to Barcelona, the Ivorian player’s agent has moved to ease tension.
The Elephants star admitted that he “exploded” against Nice officials upon learning that his dream move had been blocked, and he expressed his anger in an interview with Spanish media.
However, his agent Pacos Ferreira released the following statement to Foot Mercato.
"Following the interview with Mundo Deportivo dated today, I wanted to make clear that there was a misinterpretation of my client's statements in this passage:
'I saw the leaders the next day and I exploded, I can assure you that the walls trembled ... As for the leaders, they said nothing to me and did not even look at me in the eyes'.
"The words have doubtless surpassed the thoughts of Jean-Michael. And there was over-interpretation on the part of the media, probably, because of the language barrier, even if the journalist spoke correct French.
“Everyone knows that Barça is his club of heart and that he was very disappointed that the operation was not finalised.
"But Jean-Michael respects OGC Nice very much, a club that allowed him to reach a very high level. Despite the situation, we maintain good relations with Nice and its leaders."
