Ahead of the highly anticipated clash against Cape Verde this Friday, South African Sports Minister, Thulas Nxesi has accompanied Bafana Bafana to Praia.
Nxesi took time out of his busy schedule to accompany coach Stuart Baxter's men for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier match.
Bafana are in Group D with Burkina Faso, Cape Verde and Senegal and will hope to get a win on Friday to boost their chances en route to Russia.
“The national team need all the arsenal and the boost they can get to ensure that they go over this hurdle called Cape Verde so that they can continue to fly our flag high during the Russia FIFA World Cup come 2018,” said Nxesi.
“The success of the National team has a direct impact on social cohesion and nation building.
“I therefore urge all citizens to rally behind the team and ensure that we collect the maximum points from this match.”
Bafana will face off against the Blue Sharks at 20:30 (CAT) on Friday.
The second leg of the encounter will be staged at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday, 05 September.
