Ghana reignited their hopes of reaching the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia following a 5-1 thumping of Congo in a Group E clash at the Stade Municipal de Kintélé on Tuesday.
Thomas Partey (3) and Richmond Boakye (2) sharing all Ghana's goals between themselves as the Black Stars bounced back from their disappointing showing in Kumasi last Friday.
Defeat brings an end to the Red Devils dreams of reaching next year's world showpiece, as focus now turns to Egypt and Uganda's clash in Alexandria later this evening.
Congo made their intentions clear from the onset with Thievy Bifouma and Césaire Gandzé forcing Ricard Ofori into a succession of saves in the 10th minute.
Ghana, though, would hit the front in the 23rd minute as Boakye guided the ball into the back of the net from close range after the hosts failed to clear their lines.
Partey doubled the visitors lead three minutes later in similar circumstances. The midfielder firing home after Boakye's deflected shot fell into his path.
Poor defending opened the door for Congo in the 43rd minute as Vladis-Emmerson Illoy-Ayyet towered home an unstoppable header from a corner-kick, but their joy would be short-lived.
Partey restoring the Black Stars lead in the second minute of added time. In similar fashion to the goal he scored at the Baba Yara Stadium, Christian Atsu teed up his teammate who hammered home from an acute angle.
Despite the Red Devils efforts to get back into the clash following the interval, it would be Ghana to add to their tally as Partey completed his hat-trick.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder unstoppable as he brushed aside a pair of Congolese admirers before finding the roof of the net.
Boakye duly completed his brace in the 85th minute following good work down the touchline by Harrison Afful as Ghana recorded an emphatic win.
