SuperSport United and Zesco United drew 0-0 in 2017 CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final first-leg match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday.
South Africa's SuperSport will take on Zambian side Zesco in the second-leg game at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola next week Saturday.
Zega Mambo were happy to sit back and absorb pressure against Matsatsantsa, who were searching for an early goal.
Both sides hit the back of the net in the first 15 minutes of the match, but the two goals were ruled offside.
The visitors had a chance to break the deadlock in the 33rd minute from a free-kick in a promising area.
However, Fackson Kapumbu's effort from the set-piece was blocked by the SuperSport wall as Zega Mambo looked to break the deadlock.
SuperSport winger Thuso Phala beat his marker down the right flank in the 44th minute, but his effort was blocked.
The score was 0-0 during the half-time break between SuperSport and Zesco following a closely contested first-half.
An entertaining second-half followed, but both sides were struggling to convert their chances in the first 15 minutes.
Bradley Grobler found some space outside the Zesco box in the 57th minute, but he placed his effort over the crossbar.
The visitors nearly took the lead in the 79th minute when Mischeck Chaila pulled the trigger from range.
However, SuperSport keeper Ronwen Williams pulled off a great save to deny the Zesco midfielder.
Both sides launched late attacks in the closing stages, but they could not score and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
