Shock winners in 1992, Denmark are under pressure to replicate that feat again at this years Euro 2012.
Already drawn in an apparent group of death, Denmark will be up against three time winners Germany, tournament favourites the Netherlands and the unpredictable Portugal in Group B.
The Danes who will make their eighth appearance in Europes elite national tournament missed out on Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. But they made up for that with a good qualifying campaign where they topped the group H ahead of powerhouse Portugal and fellow Scandinavian rivals Norway, only suffering a single defeat in the process.
They booked their place at Euro 2012 with a 2-1 victory over a Christiano Ronaldo led Portuguese team.
In Morten Olsen, Denmark has one of the longest serving international coaches in recent memory. The 62-year-old who earned over 100 caps as a player for Denmark has been in charge of the national team for the last 11 years.
Players like Nicklas Bendtner, Thomas Sorensen, Dennis Rommedahl and Daniel Agger will hope to ink their names into the history of European football like compatriots Henrik Larsen, Peter Schmieche and Brian Laudrup did in their triumphant team of 1992 in Sweden.
