With Chelsea being one of the busiest clubs in the current transfer window, it’s been reported that an African star could well be on his way to London.
The 2021 UEFA Champions League winners will be one of the clubs in the running for the 2022/23 Premier League title and in doing so, have opened the chequebook.
High profile signings such as Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly have already wet the appetite of the Blues fans, while they have been linked with players such as Marc Cucurella and Frenkie De Jong.
Now though, it’s been reported that Barcelona are willing to offload Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, after the club added Robert Lewandowski to their striking department.
According to the Mirror, the Gabonese star could make his way back to London just seven months after his free transfer from Arsenal.
The report suggests that Xavi Hernandez does not want Aubameyang to leave, however, Lewandowski’s arrival could prevent him a place in the club’s starting XI.
Chelsea have been looking at attacking options in recent weeks, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s name even being mentioned in the media. Now though, it remains to be seen whether Auba will reunite with Thomas Tuchel, having played under the German mentor during his time with Borussia Dortmund.
