Nigeria international Terem Moffi is disturbed by speculation linking him with a departure from FC Lorient according to club manager Régis Le Bris.
The in-form striker was omitted from the team’s matchday squad for their Coupe de France clash against Bastia on Saturday with the club indicating that he was ill.
Moffi is believed to be pushing for a transfer to Lorient’s French Ligue 1 rivals, OGC Nice who have reportedly had three bids rejected.
“There is a reality, there is this little virus, and it is a somewhat disturbing period for him,” Le Bris said on L’Equipe.
“But I think he will be back for Rennes [on Friday in a Ligue 1 match] and that he will resume training at the start of the week.”
Moffi has netted 12 goals from 18 Ligue 1 matches for Lorient this season and he has also been linked with English Premier League outfit West Ham United.
The 23-year-old is contracted to Lorient until 2024 having joined the club from Belgian side KV Kortrijk in 2020 on a four-year deal.
He has netted three goals from nine international matches for Nigeria having made his debut for the Super Eagles last year.
His father, Leo was a professional footballer in Nigeria who played as a goalkeeper.
