New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim heaped praise on Noussair Mazraoui after he played a starring role in the 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday.
The Morocco international has featured every minute of United’s European campaign since his arrival from Bayern Munich in August and he’s also played in all 12 Premier League games, 11 of them as a starter.
Mazraoui was immense against the Norwegian champions at Old Trafford, providing the cross for Rasmus Hojlund to score the first of his two goals, while also winning six of his seven duels, making five tackles and four clearances.
Amorim hailed the versatility of the 27-year-old full-back, who started on the right of a three-man defence in the Portuguese coach’s first match on home soil and has already played in four different positions this season.
“He’s an incredible player, he’s our future,” Amorim declared after the Red Devils claimed their second win in the competition.
“He played in different positions, he looks always fresh but we have to be careful. There’s a lot of games but he’s here to stay. This kind of player is what we need.”
