The semi-finals of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations are set to take place Tuesday evening, 15 April with the youth teams vying for a spot in the final.
The first match-up will see Burkina Faso go up against Mali at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, kick-off is at 18h00 CAT.
Ahead of the match, CAF Medical Manager, Dr Sidiki Boubakary spoke about the use of MRI and how it has helped fight the problem of perceived age cheating in African youth football.
“The peculiar changes are now, we never see overage Players playing in the U-17 category. Now, we are having truly U-17 boys playing among them. And we don’t have protest on age cheating prior to the current TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025,” he said.
The Stallions have had an impressive tournament thus far, powering through to a spot in the last four with a dominating 6-1 victory over COSAFA champions Zambia.
The second semi-final is between the hosts Morocco and Ivory Coast to be played at the El Bachir Stadium at 21h00 CAT.
The hosts are eager to assert their dominance and clinch the title on home soil, but the Young Elephants are no pushover as they defeated defending champions Senegal to advance to this stage of the competition.
