RS Berkane and Simba SC booked their places in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup final following Sunday’s semi-final action.
Berkane succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to CS Constantine as Abdennour Belhocini’s 47th-minute goal earned the Algerian side the win at the Chahid Hamlaoui Stadium in Algeria.
However, it was the Moroccan champions Berkane, who progressed to the final after winning the tie 4-1 on aggregate, as they reached the Confederation Cup final for the fifth time.
Meanwhile, Simba managed to hold Stellenbosch FC to a 0-0 draw in a match the South African side had to win at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
As a result, Simba advanced to the final after winning the tightly contested tie 1-0 on aggregate and the Tanzanian giants reached a continental final for the first time since 1993 when they featured in the CAF Cup final.
Simba will go head-to-head with Berkane – the two-time Confederation Cup winners – in the two-legged final. Berkane will be at home in the first-leg match on 17 May and they will be away to Simba on 25 May in the second-leg clash.
