Sierra Leone will be looking to secure top spot in Group A, while Zambia need a win against Tanzania to keep their 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations hopes alive.
Zambia take on Tanzania in the early game at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia on Thursday, May 6 seeking their first win at the tournament.
Junior Chipolopolo only have two points to show for their efforts after playing out to successive 0-0 draws against Sierra Leone and Egypt, which sees them in fourth place.
The Ngorongoro Boys have yet to pick up a single point in the group after suffering back-to-back 1-0 defeats against South Africa and the Shooting Stars.
In the late kick-off at the same venue, South Africa will attempt to bring an end to Sierra Leone’s unbeaten start in Egypt.
Mustapha Dumbuya’s side have scored the most goals (five) at the 18th edition of AFCON thanks to their 4-1 humbling of the Young Pharaohs on April 30 after failing to find the back of the net against Zambia in their opening match.
They’ve also only conceded one, while Amajita have only found the back of the net once in their opening two encounters, losing 1-0 to the hosts on the opening day before edging Tanzania 1-0 three days later.
