Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel will seek to maintain their perfect start to the CAF Champions League group stages when they host Sudanese outfit Al-Hilal in their Group B clash on Saturday.
The pair have been regular foes in recent times having met in the Champions league in 2017 and the Confederation Cup earlier this year, with the Tunisians largely coming out on top.
After beating FC Platinum and Al Ahly ibn their opening two matches, they will expect top do so again, especially having seen off Al Hilal 3-1 at home in April, before claiming a 2-1 away success in Khartoum.
Al Hilal’s only victory in six previous meetings between the sides came all the way back in 2007 when they claimed a 2-1 win at home in the Champions League.
A feature of meetings between these sides is that both have scored at least one goal in every single game they have played, suggesting defences have found the going tough.
Etoile are coming off a run of poor form having lost their last two matches in the Tunisian league, going down 2-1 to Stade Tunisien and then losing 1-0 at Métlaoui to leave them languishing in seventh in the table.
Al Hilal have been more assured with three wins and a draw in their four matches since they lost 2-1 at Ahly in the previous round of Champions League games.
They were last in action on Monday when they beat Merreikh El-Fasher 3-0 at home.
