Zimbabwe squeezed past Malawi in the previous round, drawing 1-1 after the regulation 90 minutes before securing a 3-1 in in the subsequent penalty shootout.
Lesotho, who were surprise winners of Group B ahead of more fancied sides Botswana and Kenya, then went one step further in their quarterfinal on Sunday when they held Angola to a 1-1 draw before winning 5-3 on penalties.
