Aduana Stars avoided relegation from the Ghana Premier League after posting a vital 2-0 win over champions Asante Kotoko.

Second half strikes from James Abban and Emmanuel Akuoko sealed the important win for the Fire club before their fans in Dormaa.

Aduana could have scored more had a first half penalty taken by Godfred Saka gone in but the right-back missed it.

The 2010 champions needed a win at home and hoped other results go their way and with Faisal splitting points with Berekum Chelsea, the Fire Boys are on course for their fifth season.

They went into the final day of languishing third from the bottom with 37 but managed to climb up to 11th after bagging the points.
