Uganda Cranes have advanced to the final knock-out round 2015 Africa Cup qualifiers after a 1-0 home win over Madagascar  on Saturday at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Striker Geoffrey Massa who missed the first leg clash that the Cranes lost 2-1 on May 18 scored the decisive goal that sent the home side through to the pre-group qualifying stage.

Masssa scored in the 12th minute from a well taken Emmanuel Okwi cross when the University of Pretoria striker jumped to head the ball past Madagascar goalkeeper Robin Rakotonirina.

“We are happy that we won this game. But we need to work hard in the next games in July,” Cranes Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic  said in a post-match interview.

The Cranes advance to the second round  on away goals rule after a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.
