Cameroon have taken a step closer to qualifying for the 2015 Morocco Africa Cup of Nations finals after beating Sierra Leone 2-0 in Yaoundé on Wednesday.

First half goals by Leonard Kweuke and captain Stephane Mbia saw Cameroon going to half time enjoying possession and the lead.

As early as the fourth minute, the hosts were all over the visitors and threatening from the first whistle until a great cross from the right found Kweuke – he headed home, leaving the visiting keeper with no chance.

Three minutes later, the captain Mbia was unmarked in the edge of the box and he managed to find the far corner with a beautiful header to the applause of the home crowd.

Towards the end of the first half, Leone appealed for a penalty after Alhassan Bangura was brought down in the box but the referee Thierry Nkurunziza waved play on.

In the dying minutes of the first half, there was no less action as the hosts kept possession.

Although the second half saw the visitors coming stronger, they couldn’t do anything much to trouble Cameroon as they continued with their dominance.

Cameroon remained in their half for the most part of the game and exchanged good touches as they claimed the three points.

The Indomitable Lions will hope that Ivory Coast beat DR Congo for them to qualify for Morocco as they clash today.
