Sat July 26, 01:41

Algerian side ES Setif have scored an important 2-0 away victory over Al Ahli Benghazi in their CAF Champions League group stage clash at the Chedly-Zouiten Stadium on Friday night.

El Hadi Belameiri opened the score on 18 minutes before playmaker Sofiane Younes added number two in referee's optional time at the end of the 90 minutes.

The game was played on neutral ground for security reasons because of the situation in Libya. The match was therefore moved to Tunis at the Chadli-Zouiten Stadium.

In the reverse fixture in Algeria, ES Setif were held 1-1 by Al Ahly Benghazi.

With eight points, ES Setif are now enjoying a four point lead over CS Sfaxien and a

five-point lead over Esperance Tunis on top of Group B of the CAF Champions League, but with one more game.

But Setif are certain to remain leaders after matchday 4 of the Group stage.

Al Ahly Benghazi remain on four points in third position.

In the other game of Group B, CS Sfaxien host Esperance Tunis on Saturday in a Tunisian derby.
