Dolphins goalkeeper was the hero for Dolphins as they beat Equatorial Guinean side Leones Vegetarianos 5-3 on penalties in a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round second leg clash on Saturday at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The game at full time ended 1-0 in favour of Dolphins with Emeka Atuloma’s free kick strike in the 26th minute.
Both teams were thus on par at 1-1 on aggregate as Leones Vegetarianos won first leg 1-0.
Veteran goalkeeper Rotimi then stepped forward to stop Guy Yennance’s effort in the resulting penalty shootout, before U20 star Christian Pyagbara scored his own kick to win it for Dolphins.
Dolphins will now face Tunisian side Club Africain in the first round of the competition in mid-March.
