Congo giants AC Léopards qualified for the round of 16 of the 2015 CAF Champions League on Sunday, following their 1-0 home win over Gor Mahia in Dolisie.
The ‘Fauves du Niari’ defeated ‘Kogalo’ on the same score line in Nairobi in the first leg of their round of 32 tie, and progress 2-0 on aggregate.
The lone goal of the encounter was scored by the locals in the 35th minute, as the Kenyans failed to fight back to revive their continental hopes.
Financially struggling, Gor Mahia almost didn’t make it to Dolisie due to a lack of funds and also had to face a players’ strike over unpaid wages.
AC Léopards will face Nigeria’s Enyimba or Smouha of Egypt in the next round, with the first leg schedules on April 17-19.
