Zamalek cruised to a Confederation Cup last 16 spot following their 3-0 victory over Rayon Sports in Kigali on Sunday afternoon.

After defeating the Rwanda’s outfit 3-1 at home in the first leg of their round of 32 tie, the ‘White Knights’ ultimately enjoyed a comfortable 6-1 aggregate win.

Forward Ahmed Eid put the visitors ahead just past the half-an-hour mark at the Amahoro Stadium to send the Cairo giants with a one-goal advantage into the break.

Defender Ali Gabr added to the locals’ misery in the 53rd minute, while midfielder Ibrahim Salah hammered the final nail into Rayon Sports’ coffin three minutes later.

In the next round, Zamalek will face FUS Rabat of Morocco or Togolese side AS Togo Port de Lomé with the first leg scheduled on April 17-19.
