ES Sétif qualified for the round of 16 of the CAF Champions League after their 2-0 home victory over Real de Banjul on Friday night.

Following their 1-1 draw in Gambia in the first leg, the defending champions are progressing 3-1 on aggregate.

Midfielder Toufik Zerara put the ‘Black Eagle’ ahead at the stade du 8 mai 1945 in the 20th minute, with skipper Farid Mellouli doubling their advantage just after the break.

Kheireddine Madoui’s men will battle in the next round South African side Kaizer Chiefs or Raja Casablanca of Morocco for a spot in the Group stage of Africa’s foremost clubs competition.

Fellow Algerian side USM Alger also booked their place in the last 16 of the CAF Champions League, after holding AS Pikine to a 1-1 draw in Dakar following a comfortable 5-1 home win in the first leg.
