Morocco’s Raja Casablanca have claimed a 2-0 advantage from the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff tie against Etoile Sahel.

Goals from Abdelkabir El Ouadi and Ighodaro Osaguona in the 22nd and 45th minutes respectively saw the home side to victory at Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca on Saturday night.

Having been knocked out of the Champions League on penalties by Algeria’s ES Setif in the second round, Raja will be determined to progress into the last eight of Africa’s second-tier club competition.

However, Etoile Sahel, who have beaten Benfica Luanda and Young Africans in the Confed Cup thus far, will look to turn the tie around in the return game in Tunisia on the weekend of 5-7 June.
