Moghreb Tetouan and TP Mazembe played out a goalless draw in Tetouan on Sunday night, in their Group A of the CAF Champions League.
Defeated by Smouha SC in Alexandria in their campaign opener, the Moroccans were desperate for the full points on their ground of Stade Saniat Rmel, while Mazembe were set on a confidence boost after being held to a draw by Al Hilal in Lubumbashi.
Patrice Carteron’s men had many opportunities to break the deadlock in Morocco, but their poor finishing up front kept them goalless through the encounter with Moghreb Tetouan not more successful with half the chances.
The result sees Al Hilal remain top of the group on 4 points, following their 2-0 win over Smouha in Omdurman.
The Egyptians are just a point behind in second place, while Mazembe are third on two points and Tetouan fourth on a single point.
The DR Congo giants will travel to Egypt in matchday 3 of the competition in a fortnight, as Moghreb Tetouan will play hosts to Al Hilal.
