Senegal maintained their 100% record in the 2015 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations with a 1-0 win over Zambia in Dakar on Friday, in their final Group A clash of the continental campaign.
The tournament hosts took an early lead, thanks to FC Metz forward Mouhamadou Habib Diallo who headed home three minutes into the game.
And while Zambia had a couple of chances to equalize, the locals managed to hold onto their lead to take their narrow advantage into the break.
The score remained unchanged until the final whistle, with the Zambians going home without a single point.
The young Lions finished top of their group on 9 points following consecutive victories over South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia.
The South Africans joined Senegal into the last four of the competition after enjoying a 1-0 win over Tunisia in M’Bour.
The hosts will face the runners-up of Group B in the semifinals in Dakar on 9 December.
