Despite conceding a late goal against Libya in a Group F, Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match on Friday night, a 1-1 draw at the Stade Olympique de Radès was enough to see Morocco into the competition proper next year in Gabon.

The result sees Morocco at the top of Group A with 13 points, seven clear of Cape Verde who are in action against Sao Tome and Principe on Saturday.

Cape Verde eager to bounce back with São Tomé beating

The point for Libya leaves them in third place in the qualifying group with four points.

Morocco controlled the majority of the first half and were rewarded for their efforts with the game’s opening goal in the 38th minute courtesy of Nabil Dirar.

The second half was not as eventful as the first as Morocco sat back in defence and try to preserve their slender lead.

It appeared Morocco had done just that until Libya found the equalising goal through Sanad Ouerfeli in the 91st minute virtually the last kick of the game to see it end 1-1.
