Morocco defeated Sao Tome e Principe 2-0 in Rabat on Sunday evening to wrap up their successful 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
The Atlas were already guaranteed to finish top of Group F before the match, but their victory ensures they finish with an impressive haul of 16 points in the group. Only Senegal, with a 100 percent record in Group K, fared better.
The North Africans had to put in some hard work for the win, going through the first half goalless before the deadlock was broken 10 minutes into the second stanza.
Hakim Ziyech netted the opening goal from the penalty spot, coolly converting to make it 1-0 to the hosts.
And they had to wait until the 83rd minute to finally get their second goal, with Aziz Bouhaddouz scoring to wrap up a straightforward victory.
