Despite being the superior side on the day, FUS Rabat were unable to penetrate the MO Béjaïa defence as the two teams played to a 0-0 draw in their CAF Confederation Cup, first leg semifinal match at the Stade de l'Unité Maghrébine on Sunday evening.
The Moroccan side, playing away from home, dominated the possession stakes and controlled the flow of play, but were unable to find the back of the net due to some woeful finishing in front of goal.
Even when MO Béjaïa were reduced to ten men in the 79th minute following the sending off of Adel Lakhdari, FUS Rabat were still unable to penetrate the Algerian side’s stubborn defence.
Still, the Morrocan side will be the happier of the two teams with the result as they head to the second leg at home this coming weekend.
The result does see FUS Rabat remain unbeaten in the cup competition, earning their spot in the semifinals after topping Group B in the qualifying stages with an unbeaten record in six pool matches.
FUS Rabat will also certainly be favourties heading into the second leg at home against the Algerian side who earned their spot in the semifinals after finishing second in their qualifying group.
