Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien secured their third win in their CAF Confederations Cup, Group B campaign when they beat Swaziland’s Mbabane Swallows 3-1 in Lobamba on Sunday afternoon.
The win sees CS Sfaxien still in second place in the group with ten points, a point behind leaders MC Alger who beat Platinum Stars 2-0 in Saturday.
Swallows are third in the group with four points while Stars prop up the bottom of the standings with two points.
The Tunisian side started the better of the two teams made their early pressure tell with the opening goal in the 21st minute thanks to a strike from Ben Houssem, 1-0.
CS Sfaxien continued to dictate terms and doubled their lead eight minutes later courtesy of a foal from Firas Chaouat, 2-0.
The home side, though, were not going to do down without a fight and managed a to pull a goal back in first half injury time when Papy Tshishimbi found the back of the net, 2-1.
The second half was not as entertaining as the first with chances on goal few and far between.
CS Sfaxien did seal victory in the 88th minute when a strike from Karim Walid made it 3-1 to the Tunisians.
CS Sfaxien are next in action on the Confederations Cup on July 8th when they host MC Alger while Swallos are off to South Africa to face Platinum Stars on the same day.
