Ghana and Guinea drew 0-0 in the 2017 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group A match at the Stade de I'Amitie Sino-Gabonaise on Saturday night.

The draw sees both the Black Starlets and the Junior National Elephants reach the semi-finals, after finishing first and second respectively in Group A.

The Junior National Elephants dominated the early exchanges, but the Black Starlets were able to contain their West African rivals.

Guinea were forced to make an early change in the 17th minute as goalkeeper Ibrahima Sylla, who was injured, was replaced by Mohammed Camara.

The Black Starlets had a chance to break the deadlock in the 33rd minute, but the Junior National Elephants defence did well to stop Eric Ayiah.

The Ghana captain then tried his luck from range six minutes from the half-time break and his effort missed the target. The score was 0-0 at the interval.

The Junior National Elephants did most of the attacking in the opening stages of the second-half as they looked to break the deadlock.

Edmond Mensah was introduced after the hour-mark as the Black Starlets looked to gain control of the match and take the lead against Guinea.

However, the Black Starlets found it difficult to break the Junior National Elephants defence with time running out on the clock.

In the end, Ghana and Guinea settled for a goalless draw following a tightly contested match in the Gabonese capital city, Libreville.
