Zambia record emphatic win in Swaziland

Zambia thumped Swaziland 4-0 in the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier Southern Zone first-leg match at the Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba on Sunday.

The two Southern African sides are scheduled to meet again in the second-leg encounter in Lusaka, Zambia next weekend.

The winner on aggregate will lock horns with either South Africa or Botswana in the final round of the qualifying campaign in August, 2017.

Chipolopolo got off to the best possible start as they pressed the King's Shield and they took the lead after dominating the first 15 minutes of the game.

Clatous Chama was the man, who hit the back of the net to make it 1-0 to the impressive Zambia as the Swaziland defence was exposed.

The King's Shield attack which was led by Sabelo Ndzinisa, the Mbabane Swallows hitman, wwas struggling to breakdown the Chipolopolo defence.

The visitors managed to double their lead just before the half-hour mark when Brian Mwila found the back of the net to make it 2-0 to Zambia.

The score was 2-0 to Zambia during the half-time break following the first-half which was dominated by the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions.

Chipolopolo continued their dominance in the second-half as the King's Shield struggled to continue in the opening stages of the second-half.

The visitors were then awarded a penalty and Chama stepped up, and converted from the spot-kick to make it 3-0 to Zambia.

The Lusaka Dynamos attacking midfielder had completed his brace and Chipolopolo continued to search for more goals against the King's Shield.

Fackson Kapumbu then sealed Zambia's 4-0 emphatic victory over Swaziland when he found the back of the net in the closing stages of the encounter.
