Goals from Justin Shonga, Simon Silwimba and Brian Mwila gave Zambia a 3-0 win over Swaziland in their 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) second leg qualifier at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, on Saturday afternoon.
Out of the two legged affair, Zambia claimed a 7-0 win on aggregate and have boosted their chances of reaching the CHAN tournament in Kenya.
As they were out to wrap up the match following their 4-0 win away last weekend, Chipolopolo started the encounter on a high.
Wedson Nyirenda's men claimed their lead through Shonga in the second minute when he chipped goalkeeper Sandile Ginindza to find the back of the net.
Although towards the 20th minute there were no other clear cut chances, Shonga nearly completed his brace in 38th minute when he saw his attempt going across the face of goal.
However, two minutes later Mwila pounced on Gininda's miskick, while trying to clear a back pass, to make it 2-0 to the hosts.
On the stroke of half time, Zambia made it 3-0 when Silwimba converted when he collected the ball in the box and beat two Swazi defenders after the referee allowed an advantage as Mwila was fouled.
3-0 at half time.
In the 68th minute, Njabulo Njobvu was lucky not to concede an own goal as he cleared Augustine Mulenga's effort and Ginindza saved the rebound from Silwimba.
In the end, Chipolopolo managed to hold on to their lead and walked away as victors in front of their home crowd.
The result means the Zambians are through to the next round of the qualifier and will meet South Africa to book a spot in Kenya next year.
