Difaa El Jadidi beat MC Alger 2-0 in the 2018 CAF Champions League Group B match at the Stade El Abdi in Morocco on Saturday night.
However, Morocco's El Jadidi remained fourth on the Group B table, while Algerian side Alger also remained second on the standings.
El Jadidi dominated the match from the start with Tanzania international Simon Msuva looking lively upfront for the hosts.
The 24-year-old forward was causing havoc for the Dean defence which was led by Ayoub Azziz.
El Jadidi's pressure on the Alger defence paid off a minute before the half-hour mark and Msuva was involved in the goal.
The attacker set-up Bilal El Megri, who hit the back of the net to make it 1-0 to El Jadidi with a good finish.
The Dean tried to press the hosts in search of the equalising goal with the half-time break fast approaching.
However, home side's defence looked organised and impenetrable with Mauritanian defender Bakay N'Diaye marshalling it.
The score was 1-0 to El Jadidi at the interval with Alger having failed to level matters.
Hichem Cherif El Ouazani was introduced by Alger as the visitors looked to level matters in the second-half.
However, the hosts continued to attack as they looked to double their lead against the Dean.
El Jadidi did double their lead with 15 minutes left on the clock and it was Msuva who scored to make to 2-0 to the home side.
The goal sealed El Jadidi's 2-0 victory over Alger on the night.
