Amidaus Professionals strengthened their campaign to stay up with a 2-1 win over free-falling AshantiGold at home on Sunday.
Isaac Amoah and Amos Acheampong scored in each half to give the relegation-threatened side a 2-0 lead before Abdul Shafiu Mumuni pulled a goal back for the Miners but his 78th minute.
Amidaus knowing very well of the task ahead and the competitive nature of the contest at the bottom half of the table took matters into their own hands at the Tema Park and sealed victory by scoring two goals within 60 minutes.
Youngster Amoah escaped a couple of legs in the midfield and laced well with former Hearts of Oak midfielder Isaac Ofori in midfielder before finishing perfectly to hand Amidaus the lead.
Acheampong topped up the scoring on the hour mark for Amidaus.
But a defensive blunder gifted AshGold an opportunity and Shafiu Mumuni finished neatly for his 5th goal of the season.
Amidaus moved to tenth place but tied on points with the third-bottom club Medeama, who have two games in hand.
