Nkana overcome grief to snatch a 1-1 home draw with Sewe Sport of Cote d'Ivoire in a 2014 CAF Confederation Cup Group B tie at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
The match came 24 hours after the tragic death of Nkana coach Masauso Mwale in a car accident en route to joining the team in camp ahead of Saturday's Group B tie.
Sewe had the upper in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the break through Roger Assale who sent the ball over defender Billy Mwanza in the 18th minute.
Nkana returned from the break all fired-up after and equalised in the 54th minute through Ronald Kampamba who vollied the ball passed Sewe's outstanding goalkeeper Jean Ahouchi.
Ahouchi was Sewe's hero in the second half denying Francis Kombe in the 61st minute from close range.
Four minutes later, the crowd watched in disbelief as Kampamba fired his shot off the post.
Anouchi then shutout Kampamba twice in the 68th and 85th minutes to deny the host a farewell win for the departed Mwale.
Meanwhile, Nkana remain bottom of Group B despite picking up their first point in the league stage.
Sewe move up to second on two points for at least 24 hours before leaders Al Ahly's visit to Tunisian side and 2006 champions Etoile du Sahel in Sousse on Sunday night.
