Veteran coach Kadiri Ikhana has finally taken over as coach of Nigeria Premier League outfit Giwa FC after several weeks of denials.

AfricanFootball.com first broke the news that former Enyimba and Kano Pillars coach Ikhana will replace sacked Abdullahi Biffo as Giwa coach.

Ikhana was on Monday evening unveiled at Giwa training ground in Kuru, near Jos, according to the club’s head of Marketing, Sammy Adesoji, who acted as caretaker coach of the club.

"We unveiled Kadiri Ikhana today(Monday) as our new TA (technical adviser) at our training ground in Kuru. He was introduced to the players and officials. He will be assisted by Friday Christopher," Adesoji told AfricanFootball.com

Friday Christopher was the manager of FC Abuja last season.

The one-time hard-tackling defender featured for IICC Shooting Stars and Abiola Babes.

Last season, Ikhana ensured Nasarawa United beat the drop from the Nigeria top flight.

Premier League debutants Giwa are 11th on the league table with 21 points from 14 matches.
