CSKA Moscow star Ahmed Musa shot into the history book as the first Nigeria player to score a brace at World Cup game when he scored twice in Nigeria's 3-2 loss to Argentina on Wednesday.
And he has revealed he will observe the 30-day fasting, which is one of the pillars of Islam, in Brazil because he said it will enhance his performance, rather than affect him negatively.
"I will observe Ramadan in Brazil
Insha Allah, I am used to it. It won't affect my game negatively instead it will give me extra strength to deliver on the pitch. My fans and Nigerians shouldn't panic. The Eagles and I will deliver against France," Ahmed Musa told AfricanFootball.com
Another Nigeria World Cup star who will observe the Muslim Ramadan fasting is Almeria midfielder Ramon Azeez, who started against Iran in the country’s opening group game against Iran.

Fasting takes enormous physical toll on an average person, not to mention how it will affect someone who is involved in a rigorous exercise like competitive soccer. I respect every one's religion, but I hate it when people lose common sense because of religion. I hope that Coach Keshi will do the right thing here, and make his Muslim players choose between competitive soccer or fasting. You cannot opt to go without wholesome nourishment and play soccer at the same time!
