Uganda Cranes striker Daniel Sserunkuma, who is a transfer target for Kaizer Chiefs, has failed to impress Danish side KB Koge during a two-week trial in Germany.
The former Kenya Premier League Best Player is expected to return to Kenya today to join his club Gor Mahia.
Sserunkuma has been on a two-week trial with KB Koge while in their preseason in Germany and featured in three friendly matches where he failed to score.
During the three trial matches, Sserunkuma came on as a substitute against BSG Chemie Leipzig, FC Bitterfieldon and Chemnitzer FC, but failed to get his name on the score sheet. The Danish side beat BSG Chemie Leipzig 3-0, hammered FC Bitterfieldon 8-0 and fell 3-0 to Chemnitzer FC on Friday.
Sserunkuma’s failure to impress could be good news for Kaizer Chiefs, who could now get the striker easily. The Ugandan will now be available for Gor mahia in the forthcoming 2014 regional CECAFA Kagame Club Championship to take place in Rwanda August 8-24.
The player’s agent Ken Joseph, however, said Sserunkuma did not fail the trials, but HB Koge preferred to wait for the remaining six months on the contract to be run out.
