Congo’s AC Leopards have qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals in style with a 4-1 victory over ASEC Mimosas on Sunday.
Kader Bidimbou and Gandze Cesaire were in excellent form to guide the home side to the much needed help win.
Bidimbou netted a first half grace for the home side, after Dao Yussouf had put ASEC in the lead. After the interval another brace from Gandze sealed an emphatic 4-1 win for the home side.
Although the two teams played to a goalless draw in May in Abidjan when they met earlier in the group stage, AC Leopards were in excellent form on Sunday.
The Congolese side came into this final match day of the group phase fresh from an emphatic 4-0 win over Cameroon’s Coton Sport earlier in the month. They only needed to avoid defeat, but collected maximum points.
AC Leopards and Coton Sport, who drew 1-1 with Real Bamako, now join Al Ahly and Sewe Sport for the semis.
