Second placed Power Dynamos beat National Assembly 7-1 to stay in close sight of leaders Zanaco's rear-view mirror.
The scoreline was a record for the 2014 season as Power also broke their own feat in one term after a 6-0 home win over Konkola Mine Police last April in Kitwe.
Hero on the day in the emphatic win was striker Jimmy Ndhlovu who scored four goals to lift his tally of the season to 13 goals and shift into second place behind Zesco United's Jackson Mwanza who has 15 goals in all competition.
Billy Mutale, Richard Kasonde and Julius Situmbeko added a goal each for Power while Peter Mwangani scored Assembly's consolation goal.
Power are just one point behind Zanaco who beat struggling Indeni 2-1 away in Ndola.
Portipher Zulu and Davies Mwape were on target for Zanaco in the 17th and 81st minutes respectively while Nchimunya Masiwa scored for Indeni in-between in the 48th minute.
Zanaco and Power are on 50 and 49 points respectively after 24 games played.
However, the battle for the 2014 title remains a three-horse race with third placed zesco United just three points behind Zanaco after a 2-1 home win over Green Eagles in Ndola.
Jackson Mwanza put Zesco ahead in the 11th minute but Mathews Tembo equalised in the 24th minute.
Maybin Mwaba claimed Zesco's nerves with the winner in the 48th minute to avenge their 3-1 first league defeat of the season meted out by Eagles last May.
