Although Lesotho are placed at position three in Group C, they still have hopes of qualifying for the 2015 Morocco AFCON tournament as they prepare to face Angola at home on Friday evening.
The team from the mountainous kingdom will host the Southern African country as they look to increase their chances of making it to Morocco.
Known as Likuena, the team started poorly considering their results after losing to Burkina Faso away and playing to a 1-1 draw against Gabon at home. They’re one spot above the Angolans.
Coached by Seephephe Matete, he has a toughest task on his hands, the responsibility of leading the team to their first AFCON appearance.
For Likuena, they will have to overcome the Angolans to see their mission of qualifying becoming alive by taking advantage of the frustrations of the visitors.
However, the Angolans, also known as ‘Palancas Negras’, are aiming for redemption and to move up the standings after their back-to-back losses to Burkina Faso and Gabon, they will count on the experience of campaigners like Gilberto and Bastos.
On the other hand, the home side will bank on midfielder Emmanuel Lekhanya’s form, as he netted their goal against the Gabonese side to bring along his scoring boots.
Lekhanya and Gilberto are players to watch in this encounter as they will carry their country’s hopes on their shoulders to overturn their recent bad run of form.
The game gets underway at the Setsoto Stadium, Maseru, at 19:30.
